Spring Trends I’m Excited For

As the weather starts to warm up, I tend to start moving my warmer weather pieces to the back of my closet. Sweaters & heavy 2nd layers are put away, making way for lighter weight fabrications + new purchases. I find this the best way to make sure I have eyes on all my spring & summer pieces. There are a few trends I’m already starting to fill my closet with, let’s jump in!

Side detailing on jeans

  1. Gap
  2. Mother $220
  3. Kut From The Kloth $44.50

A step-up from the recent athleisure trend, adding some fun details to an everyday pair of jeans easily elevates your look. Kut From The Kloth is one of my favorite brand of jeans, & if you like stretchier denim I’d suggest giving them a try. You can usually find Kut pieces at Nordstrom Rack. For a splurge, the Mother jeans add a nice pop of color to your outfit as well.

Straight leg cropped denim

  1. Reformation $128
  2. Joe’s Jeans $78
  3. Gap $53

Skinny is out, y’all. I can’t remember the last time I reach for a pair of skinnies. Mom jeans are in & here to stay. Don’t @ me. Perfect for spring, opt for a strappy sandal, slides, or an athletic sneaker on bottom. I feel like this silhouette balances out my shape nicely, adding some volume to my lower half in the most flattering way possible.

Twisted & Tied pieces

Spring is the perfect time to bust out some high rise denim & cropped tops. Ties & knots add a little somethin’ somethin’ to casual looks & the cropped styles let you show a little extra skin as it starts to heat up. My favorite fabrication for pieces like these are rayon & cotton. Nice & breathable.

  1. LuLus $94
  2. LuLus $46
  3. River Island $56

Statement earrings

Throw on a simple tee, distressed boyfriend jeans, sandals, & a pair of on-trend statement earrings = my spring staple. Look you guys, I’ve never been an earring person. I wore Forever21 studs through my entire 20’s, rocked some dangly star pieces from Claire’s in my teens, & have just discovered my love for loud accessories. I love sticking with neutral tones. I’ll legit wear an entire grey/beige outfit with zero regrets. What better way to add some pops of spring color than with some of these beauties.

  1. Baublebar $24
  2. Baublebar $18
  3. Baublebar $48

Side note; Baublebar has a fantastic lower priced collecting called SUGARFIX at Target.

SCRUNCHIES

  1. Free People $8
  2. Tokyo Disney Store $5
  3. Urban Outfitters $12

Alright guys, you’re either with me or you’re wrong on this one. On our most recent trip to Tokyo, I couldn’t help but notice that all the cool girls were rockin’ my moms favorite accessory, a scrunchie. Not just any scrunchies, but a lot had little gems hanging down. Bows & knots, truly the possibilities are endless here. The best part? THEY WON’T CREASE YOUR HAIR.
