You are so ready for the arrival of your baby sister. Each day that passes, you find a way to bring her up, “When Blake is here…I bet Blake will like…I can sing this with Blake”. You are ready. I’ve been cuddling you a little longer these days. A part of me thinks you’re going somewhere, and in some small way that’s true. The ‘only child’ chapter will be closed as we venture into big sister territory. Before we are a family of 4, I want you to know that you have made me a better person. I love myself because of the way you see me. I love your Dad more because of you and who you’ve made him. For the last (almost) 8 years, you’ve allowed us to be kids again. We play games together as a family, battle each other to lightsaber fights, go to Disneyland more times than we can count, and make s’mores every summer. I’m thankful we’ve had so much time with just us three and take comfort in knowing Blake will only add to our family fun. Before we are a family of 4, I want you to know that I think you are the sweetest, coolest, and most creative little person I know. You are hilarious, cracking some of the best jokes in the house (sorry Dad). I know you’re ready to be a big sister, but don’t ever forget that you were the first love of our lives. We can’t wait to see you in this new role!
